The Great Bellinzona Cube Contest 2008

We want to strut your stuff! We know that you can do great things with this pattern/design set and we want to see it so we're holding a contest.

Second Prize Customer Judging:* Two embroidery design sets of your choice from Bullard Designs.

*Customer judging will take place at the ASG Convention in Chicago in July 08. Finalist entries will be displayed (without entrants' names) and attendees will vote. Voting will be limited to 1 vote per attendee.

HOW IT WORKS:

Create your version of the Bellinzona Cube using our pattern and designs.

Send us photos (via mail or email) to arrive at the Bullard Designs offices by June 14.

The judges (that would be us, Bobbi & Randy Bullard) will choose the top 10 entries.

The contestants with the top 10 entries will send their purses to the Bullard Designs studio to arrive before June 27.

We will ship the top 10 entries to Chicago where they will be on display at the American Sewing Guild Convention. Wildcard entries will also be accepted at the convention (people who bring their purses to the convention.)

Convention attendees will vote for the Customers' Choice Awards and Bobbi and two additional judges will choose the Judges Choice Award.

Winners will be notified by July 27. Runner-up entries will be returned by September.

Winning entries will on display with the Bullard Design collection in a few sewing shows and will be returned to you by December 2008.

 

To Enter:

1) Click on Add to Cart below to pay the $5.00 entry fee. The entry fee contributes to return shipping costs.

2) You will receive an e-mail with directions for emailing or mailing us photos of your entry. Note limit your photos to 4 photos per entry. We suggest a photo of the whole purse plus closeups of details. **Note photo hints below.

3) We will confirm receipt of the photos via email with 24 hours or receipt.

** (Photo hints: Lighting is very important for a good photo. Most modern cameras have a built in flash that usually works pretty well at lighting your subject. If you have something that in the photo that reflects to much, try turning the purse slightly.)
Entry Rules

All entries must be made using the Bellinzona Cube Pattern and accompanying embroidery designs. Designs and pattern may be modified but the purse & designs or parts thereof must be recognizable.

Initial entries will be judged by photos. Photos will be posted on the Bullard Designs website.

Finalists will be chosen by June 15th.
To be considered for judging the entry must be able to reside with Bullard Designs through December 2008. If chosen as a finalist, the purse must be received by Bullard Designs by June 27 or may be given to Bobbi Bullard on July 10 at the ASG convention.

The purses in the collections will be packed and unpacked several times. While great care is taken to protect the purses in the collection as carefully as possible, breakable embellishments and other breakable props may become damaged. Special packing instructions cannot be followed. When designing your entry (these factors should be taken into consideration so that the purse or embellishments on the purse are not fragile. )

Your photo must be received by Bullard Designs by June 14.
Multiple entries per person will be accepted with separate fees and forms for each.

Or enter the WildCard Entry. Bring your purse to the ASG convention in Chicago in July 10, 2008. Submit an entry form (available at the Bullard Designs booth at the convention). Your purse will be displayed and your entry included in the contest.

Entries must be accompanied by a $5.00 entry fee ($25 for foreign entries) and a signed copy of the official entry form. We will send an email confirmation to all who accurately and clearly write their email address on the application. Add us to your safe sender’s list.

Entries must be clean when they are received or they may be returned. Do not add potpourri, sachets or any other fragrances to your entry, as many people (including curators or judges) may be allergic. Cigarette odor may result in immediate disqualification.

Items selected to travel will not be returned until December 2008. Items not accepted for travel will be returned by September, 2008.
