SAMURAI Shirt & Pant

This loose fitting shirt has a standup collar, extended shoulder with shoulder pads, and full straight sleeves. Asymmetrical front closing and back cut on the bias, make it distinctly comfortable. Tapered trousers have an elasticized waist, full cut leg and easy welt pockets. Wide stitched hems mirror the treatment used on the shirt and make this ensemble a breeze to finish.

BACK TO PURRFECTIONS PATTERNS

This is one of those patterns that makes up beautifully and quickly. I think it has infinite possibilities. You can see a version of this pattern in the last issue of Designs in Machine Embroidery. I used a blouse weight cotton for that one.

The one below is done in a rayon batik and it works as an overblouse or top.

The designs on that one are from Delicate Garden

Bobbi

The batik I used in this is from Batik Butik

www.batikbutik.com

They have so many beautiful fabrics -all of them co-ordinated so you can get a really put together look like this top and pants.

The back of this is particularly nice. It is cut on the bias. If you put your decorations on the straight grain of the fabric they show up as chevrons because of the cut. It's quite unusual.

This fabric is a little heavier - though with a good drape. The effect is a beauitful jacket. Note - on the picture below that if you fold the lapels back you get a totally different look.

Again- note the interesting back- this one featuring designs from my Deco Delight set.
