1) Pamela Day

Join Pamela Day for a delightful visit into the festive Renaissance era. Pamela brings over 15 years of Renaissance clothing experience with her from designing and handcrafting `period correct' clothing from peasants to noble for both women and men as well as teaching this very particular era of what is `correct' for the time period and how to achieve it within today's textiles and patterning.

You will have the opportunity to see first hand these beautifully and authentically handcrafted clothes. Pamela will have her Elizabethan Riding/Hunting gown in suede, silk and wool complete with her handcrafted suede brim hat to show you. You will also see her `work in progress' – a noble set of clothes embellished with hundreds of pearls, embroidery, beading, piping and pleating. Pamela will also share with us the inner workings of a good supporting bodice. Many of these techniques are used in today's clothing.

2) The Pixeladies will be leading us in a session in Furoshiki:

Furoshiki: Fun with Fabric Folding

The Japanese have perfected the art of wrapping just about everything: food to take to a potluck, a wedding present, even a greeting card. And the best part is, the wrapping consists of fabric and is reusable! Come learn how to wrap with fabric and help save the Earth with the Pixeladies ! They'll teach you some tips and tricks to make everything look just right. Just bring some fabric (30" sq. and 40" sq.), the drapier the better (just look in your stash!). Bring two books (same size) and two empty (or full) wine bottles. Make yours the perfect hostess gift! (You'll go home with your fabric intact.)

What a treat! Hands-on and fun!

3) Sandra Wagner writes:

I will be showing one of a kind garments using hand-dyed and commercial fabrics. Cotton, wool and silk are the fabrics I enjoy working with the most and the hand dyed fabrics for garments or scarves are important in my process. I enjoy using beads, hand dyed ribbons, yarns, paints, silkscreening plus other interesting things that I find. Most garments are lined and some have batting. I enjoy the process as much as the finished product.

Bio: I have sewn forever it seems - around 7 I started sewing by hand for my dolls - got my first sewing machine at age 13 and never looked back. I took the same class we all seemed to have taken in school - in some cases this would have killed the desire to sew - have taken tailoring classes which enhanced my love for hand work. No one in my family sewed as I was growing up but I thank whatever it was that made me want to do it. I can't imagine my life without fabric and the ability to play. Living in the mountains does make one wonder where will I wear this - I answer this by saying, "anywhere I want to but maybe not Burger King"

Noelle Tamourini Olsen

Fabrics and sewing have been a lifelong love of Noelle's. Her ensembles have won many awards in shows across the U.S. Her one-of-a-kind garments often tell a story with whimsical themes ranging
from "frolicking floral felines" to "dancing praying mantises." She loves fabric, color and texture and the challenge of recreating fabric by using fabric manipulation techniques, paint, beads, buttons, foil, colored pencils and anything else that will help tell the story. She designed seven runway garments for the prestigious invitational Fairfield/Bernina Fashion Shows.

Now you can see a wide variety of these exquisite garments close-up and personal. You'll be in awe!

I remember the exact moment I first found your website and it did it to me then, big time. it was a profound turning point in my sewing life. It made me come alive again. I was so impressed with your designs being such that they could become part of a garment, and not just something you put ON the garment. I remember thinking, finally, designs can be translated into mature creations.. And then when I attended your class - I learned even more how to actually enhance my clothing.
Jo Cheryl Holcomb
Bobbi,

I was in one of your seminars this weekend and just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed and learned from it. I've visited your website

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity.

Sincerely,

Donna Smith
Dear Bobbi:

I took your class at the Novi show and was very inspired. You just did a wonderful job there and I hope you return.

I have avoided doing too much embroidering on clothes because I just did not want that single design "out there." I am now looking at my embroidery collection of designs in an entirely different way. I also have many of the patterns you showcased (independent companies) and see that all I need is the time and inspiration!

Thanks again--in fact, many thanks.

Marian Faupel
Hi Bobbi,
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you at the Novi Expo this weekend and attended several of your talks. Your easy manner and humor made the "education" a lot of fun.

Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. Your designs are lovely.

Sue Douglass
Thanks so much. I took a class from Bobbi last week at the MEEC, and she really inspired me to stretch a bit with my sewing. GREAT trunk show - I really enjoyed it.

Barbara Minor
Hi Bobbi,

I met you in Boca and you are absolutely delightful. I purchased several of your design sets and stitched out Summer Boxes yesterday and just had to tell
you how pleased I was. You did a beautiful job digitizing and it made it such a pleasure to sew them out. Hoping to see you again at another retreat.

Jean Pearl
Hi Bobbi,

Thank you so much for coming to speak at our Detroit ASG meeting. Your presentation was delightful. I took one of your classes in 2004 at the Novi Expo and was thrilled you were
able to visit us. I look forward to uses your stamps and being inspired by your creativity.

Thank You,
Mary Ann
